# **About In My Town**

A city shouldn't have to search for itself.

Every week, great local events happen without reaching the people who would genuinely enjoy them. Concerts, exhibitions, workshops, festivals, talks, markets, and community gatherings are often scattered across social media, messaging apps, venue websites, posters, newsletters, and ticketing platforms. Discovering what's happening shouldn't feel like detective work.

In My Town brings local cultural life together into one place.

Whether you live in the city or you're visiting for a few days, the goal is simple: make it easy to discover what's happening around you based on your interests, not on social media algorithms.

For residents, that means spending less time searching and more time experiencing their city.

For visitors, it means finding authentic local experiences beyond the usual tourist itinerary.

For organizers, cultural institutions, and eventually cities themselves, it means contributing to a shared source of truth instead of competing across fragmented channels. Better visibility benefits everyone: audiences discover more, organizers reach interested people more easily, and cities gain a clearer picture of their cultural ecosystem.

## Where we are today

In My Town is still in its early stages.

We're launching with a single pilot city to learn what works, improve the platform alongside local organizers, and build the right foundations before expanding elsewhere. That means you'll see the product evolve over time as new features and cities are added.

We're intentionally taking a city-by-city approach rather than trying to scale everywhere at once.

Our ambition is long-term, but our focus is simple: help every city become easier to discover, experience, and understand, starting with one.
